Owlina's story

On a day like many others, I was crocheting an amigurumi owl. I used my favourite yarn and embellishments and I was wholly absorbed in my crafting. I named her Owlina.
When she was finished she looked at me with her big, bright eyes, and said:'Hello. Thank you for making me. What shall we do now?' 'Erm,' I replied. 'I just thought I'd put you on a shelf, among the other amigurumis I made.' Her eyes glanced upon the shelf, then she said: 'They seem like jolly creatures. But...' She pointed out of the window. 'I'd rather see what's outside there!

I want to meet people and see flowers and famous buildings. I want to go to concerts and musea and stuff. I'd like to feel the rain falling down on my pink little head, feel the wind rushing through my feathers and catch the sun in my big eyes. I don't want to be put on a shelf, I want adventure!' I was quite astonished. I didn't know where she got all that from, but owls are wise creatures they say. 'Okay...' I replied. 'But you see, I'm just an ordinary crocheter, I'm not very adventurous. But maybe...'
I suddenly got a great idea and explained it all to her. Perhaps I could put up a website, and ask some friends if they would be willing to take her on a little adventure. The only 'but' was that she had to travel in an envelope. Luckily she didn't mind, because she's very tiny and owls like living in the dark sometimes. So, Owlina and I had made a deal. Now all we had to do is to wait for some nice friends who'd like to have owlina over for a while!
